How does the bitcoin source code define its 21 million cap?
Many of bitcoin’s staunchest critics have expressed doubt about its 21 million cap, but perhaps the most mindless criticism relates…
,We are pleased to announce the appointment of Shimon Lazarov as our new Chief Marketing Officer at Unchained. With an extensive background in marketing and a wealth of knowledge in both bitcoin and traditional financial services, Shimon brings invaluable expertise to our team.
Speaking about the new role, Shimon said:
“When I contemplated my next career step, it became clear that I needed to align myself with a mission that would create a substantial impact in the financial world and significantly enhance people’s lives.
In these extraordinary times, marked by record levels of peacetime debt, a shifting geopolitical landscape, escalating consumer price inflation, and the impending rise of hyper-deflationary technologies like artificial intelligence, the traditional models for centrally planning the global monetary supply may not endure. This is precisely why the world needs bitcoin more than ever before.
I couldn’t be more thrilled to join Unchained, as I believe it has the perfect combination of an exceptional team and a remarkable product that will thrive amidst these changes.”
Shimon’s professional journey began in traditional finance, and he obtained an MBA in technology marketing from The Kellogg School of Management. Subsequently, he spent some time at the San Francisco office of the Boston Consulting Group, where he specialized in pricing, marketing strategy, branding, and positioning for top-tier financial services companies.
Upon discovering bitcoin, and after seeing the terrible effects of hyperinflation first hand, Shimon made the decision to dedicate his career to raising awareness about this groundbreaking approach to handling financial value.
He served as the head of growth at Kraken, as well as the global head of growth at Okcoin and OKX, where he successfully expanded over 10 product lines across over a dozen countries, achieving a substantial revenue increase even during challenging market conditions—a bear market for crypto and record interest rate hikes. Shimon possesses a rare blend of expertise in marketing strategy, coupled with hands-on execution of global marketing campaigns, spanning traditional finance, technology startups, and cryptocurrency firms.
“Shimon is a bitcoiner with a demonstrated ability to scale marketing teams at world class financial institutions.” said Joe Kelly, Unchained’s CEO. “Unchained has product market fit and has survived where other companies less focused and less aligned with their clients’ interests have failed. We have an amazing opportunity to provide financial services and protect more bitcoin through collaborative custody.”
With Shimon joining the team, we’re looking forward to becoming even more methodical about how we approach our customers. As the bitcoin market keeps growing, we’ll make sure that the right products get exposure to the people who could benefit from them the most.
Unchained is scaling the team across our marketing organization and beyond. If you’d like to learn more about open positions we have, check out our careers page.
